The Global Fund HIV Program 06 November, 2017
This program has been implementing from September 2016 which is being implemented in 40 districts. Likewise the same project was implemented from July 2015 to February 2016 to fulfill the gap period in 33 districts with 38 sites of Nepal.
Objective: To reduce morbidity related to HIV and related complications, prevent HIV transmission and improve quality of life for PLHIV and their families through accelerating and scaling up comprehensive package of services.
Establish and operate CCC for residential care, psycho-social and adherence counseling, nutritional support, facilitate treatment process and ART initiation, educate PLHIV on various aspect, reinforce positive prevention strategy among PLHIV, condom promotion, conduct activities to reduce stigma and discrimination, enroll in PMTCT services, CHBC services, CLHIV Cash transfer, STI management, link PLHIV to other existing local program and educate, refer key populations for HIV testing.
Achievements and Lesson Learnt:
The program has enrolled 96 % of CCC clients on ART and more than 95 % have viral load suppressed. The integrated approach of CCC, CHBC, CABA and prevention program including CLT will be more effective to achieve the national HIV/AIDS goal of 90-90-90 by 2020.Scaling up coverage quality of HIV prevention targeted to most at risk population and treatment, care and Support services to PLHIV.The project is under the Global Fund round 10 with the coverage in 15 districts.
To build the capacity of member organizations, support to develop plans in relation to capacity gaps including coordination and linkages with existing other services.
Conduct various capacity building measures at central and local level like support to develop policy and plans, Support in Treatment, nutrition, education to PLHIV, conduct advocacy, STI management, BCC activities and promote condom at district level, referral and linkages for prevention, care, support and treatment services at community level and stigma and discrimination reduction programs at local level etc.
