NAP+N-United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
Since 2006-2010, NAP+N with the support of UNDP implemented Challenge Fund Project. With the aim of creating enabling environment for PLHIV at all level, NAP+N supported 18 CBOs in 18 districts but the number gradually increased up to 40 in 40 districts.
Objective: To provide treatment, care and support to PLHIV of Nepal by capacitating local community based PLHIV led organizations.
Major activities: Build capacity of CBOs to provide care and support to PLHIV, link PLHIV to health care facilities their treatment process, awareness program to reduce S&D, reinforce positive prevention strategies, encourage positive disclosure, conduct capacity building of PLHIV, establish and operate care home services and provide technical support to CBOs.
Achievements and Lesson Learnt: Network of PLHIV expanded in almost all over the country (regional and district chapters), Status disclosure at various level resulting in reduced stigmatization and discrimination, instrumental for the initiation of CABA Program in the country.
